Beautiful Shieldaig Bay is right on our doorstep. 

Spend a morning kayaking here in the bay with our guides, or head out to Loch Maree for a spot of canoeing in the fourth longest freshwater loch in Scotland.

Canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddle boarding

Discover beautiful coastline on our guided kayaking adventures. Trips are run by local guides who are knowledgeable about Wester Ross and are wildlife spotting experts. We want you to enjoy a relaxed paddle, with which we will choose an area to explore based on your experience, local tides and weather conditions. You can also take a canoe and paddle the iconic Loch Maree with one of our guides. 

Sea kayaking

Enjoy a half day kayaking around Shieldaig Lodge. Gairloch Canoe and Kayak Centre is based in the grounds of the lodge and provides trips run by local guides who are also experts on wildlife spotting. Expect to see seals, otters, white tailed eagles, skuas and gannets. 
All equipment is provided, including sea kayaks, buoyancy aids, spray decks and paddles, you just need to bring a sense of adventure! Minimum of 2 people per booking.

Canoeing On Loch Maree

Starting at Slatterdale on Loch Maree, explore the fourth longest freshwater loch in Scotland and visit the islands on the loch. A major feature of the loch is the large number of islands it holds, the larger contain pristine remnants of ancient Caledonian Pinewood. Some of these Scots Pine trees are over 350 years old and stand on ground which has changed little in the last 8000 years. Following the footsteps of Queen Victoria, you will canoe to Isle Maree, believed to be an 8th century hermitage. 

All equipment is provided, including canoes, buoyancy aids and paddles. Minimum of 2 people per booking.

Stand-up paddle boarding (SUP)

Hire includes SUP, paddle, buoyancy aid, pump to blow up SUP, SUP fin. 

SUP is one of the fastest growing and popular water sport activities around. Its popularity is based on SUP being one of the best workouts for a complete body. SUPing is a low impact exercise that is a combination of balance, strength, and endurance which are exercised whether you are paddling or just balancing on your board. And, of course, it is great fun!
