Shieldaig lodge is the most perfect of locations for a hill walking holiday. Sitting on the edge of the famous Torridon Mountains and located on the shores over looking the Hebridean Islands , there is no where as spectacular to be based as this. There are many walks from the Lodge and within the estate itself, a very popular walk is to Redpoint a wonderful red sandy beach on the end of the peninsular with dramatic views of the Skye Cuillins. Also Beinn Eighe National Nature Reserve, Scotland's first and grandest is 15 mins journey from the Lodge. This 5,000-hectare (12,350-acre) mountain fastness of Caledonian pinewoods, barren moors, and lochans, has breathtaking views over Loch Maree and Torridon. Among the wildlife can be found pine marten and wildcat.
