The North Coast 500 is a unique 500 mile touring paradise of the Scottish Highlands.
The official route begins in Inverness then heads West along the coast to Kyle of Lochalsh, up the scenic North Coast to John O'Groats and back down to Inverness. The venture was set up by the North Highland Initiative (NHI) to showcase the area and allow for Scotland's hidden gems to be uncovered. Exploration and discovery is at the heart of this voyage, single track country roads, fairy tale castles, historic golf courses and an abundance of outdoor activities make this drive unlike any other.
Highland cattle, deer and sheep are some of the friendly locals you are most likely to meet on your journey. Whether you are exploring over several weeks or a long weekend, the route offers "wonderful diversions from where you will experience the placesm the personalities and the craic that make up this extradinairy country."
- NHI Chairman, David Whiteford.
Shieldaig Lodge offers guests a wealth of outdoor activities to experience the landscape and seascapes such as pony trekking, luxury power boating, yachting, fishing, falconry and much more.
